Prometheus Poster

The pre-sequel of <Alien (1979)>. The director of <Blade Runer (1982)>. The actress of <The Girl with the Dargon Tattoo (2009)>. Wow, so much anticipation.

I was also aware of mixed reviews before seeing it. But I am glad that I saw this movie, <Prometheus>.

In terms of the originality of the story, it is not even close to <Alien> and has many non-senses carried out. However, it was at least wrttien for the movie, not based on an exisitng novel or a comic book and I think we have to give it a credit on that. My problem would be that <Prometheus> was a very incomplete story, only throwing out questions, not giving anwers to them. It gets more complicated when you realize that it hints a little bit of religious implication.

Visually, even though I was grossed out many times (not a huge fan of horror materials), there are a few scenes that put me in awe, especially in 3D. In fact, it was the first sci-fi movie that I watched in 3D, which was quite effective. The surgery scene was memorable, although Dr. Shaw was able to walk with no problem  (even running a few minites after) immediately after the surgery. haha.

I happended to see the interview of Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender with Charlie Rose about this movie, and was impressed by their passion, which made me want to watch this movie. In fact, the actor Michael Fassbender was the most intriguing character. There will be a sequel, for sure.

My rating: 3.3
