*Spoiler Alert*
It's only been out on general release for two weeks (well in the UK any way), but Ridley Scott is already teasing fans with hints about a sequel to his mega hit, Prometheus. According to THR, Ridley Scott is considering calling the new movie Paradise – which was the original working title for Prometheus. "From the very beginning, I was working from a premise that lent itself to a sequel," he said.
"I really don't want to meet God in the first one. I want to leave it open to [Noomi Rapace's character Dr Elizabeth Shaw] saying, 'I don't want to go back to where I came from. I want to go where they came from'."
"Because [the Engineers] are such aggressive f**kers, I always had it in there that the God-like creature that you will see actually is not so nice, and is certainly not God."
"I'd love to explore where [Dr Shaw] goes next and what does she do when she gets there, because if it is paradise, paradise cannot be what you think it is. Paradise has a connotation of being extremely sinister and ominous."
And if the sequel gets the green light it looks more than likely Noomi Rapace will return in the role of Dr Elizabeth Shaw after her recent comments: "I have real dreams about what happened in the events after Prometheus. I would absolutely love to go back with him into this world.
Although opinion at GG♥SF is still divided over Prometheus, we have to admit we'd all be up for exploring the premise of the Engineers and paradise further.
Get to it, Mr Scott.
