The 18th Jameson Empire Awards has nominated Skyfall in 6 categories with The Avengers, The Hobbit, Django Unchained and The Dark Knight Rises competing with it for Best Film
Sam Mendes’ Skyfall the sixth best James Bond film ever made Top 10 Films Avengers Assemble the brilliantly subversive (read: messed up!) Kill List, saw his indie hit Sightseers nominated in four categories.

Skyfall tops off a magnificent year for James Bond. Marking the 50th anniversary of the great British hero, Skyfall has a chance of winning Best Thriller, Best British Film, Best Director, Jameson Best Actor (Daniel Craig), Best Actress presented by Citroën (Dame Judi Dench), and Best Film presented by Sky Movies.
It will face tough competition though. Argo Jo Nesbo’s Headhunters The Dark Knight Rises) and Quentin Tarantino (Django Unchained) going up against each other. Skyfall also has a chance to win Best British Film, going up against Les Misérables, Sightseers, Dredd 3D and The Woman In Black.

Interesting nominations include Looper The Dark Knight Rises The Hunger Games.
Elsewhere, Silver Linings Playbook competes with Ted, Moonrise Kingdom, 21 Jump Street and The Pirates! In An Adventure With Scientists for Best Comedy; Suraj Sharma of Life Of Pi is up for Best Male Newcomer; and, Quvenzhané Wallis, the youngest-ever Best Actress Oscar nominee, is up for Best Female Newcomer for her work in The Beasts of the Southern Wild.
